How the lighting works
The bridge is a steel skeleton under a wavy glass canopy, and after dark artificial light takes over from daylight. The destination source describes the lighting on a scale of tens of thousands of LED lights, which is why the structure reads as a bright band over the water.
We report the scale, not a permanent fixture count; installations and effects are maintained and can change.
Where to watch the light
Standing on the deck you are inside the light; stepping back lets you see the whole span.
- From the riverbank, to take in the full lit span
- From the Rike Park side, looking back across the water
- From the higher Old Town side, for a wider view over the river
- From the bridge deck itself, close to the canopy
What to verify
Lighting is tied to darkness and to the season, so any fixed hour online can be wrong.
- Switch-on time for your date
- Whether any special lighting or events are running
- Whether other parts of the area are also lit that evening
Treat every specific time as a check-on-the-day item, including anything on this site.
